Truly, Andhra Pradesh is becoming Andhera(darkness) Pradesh
HYDERABAD: An unexpected heavy power shortage has forced the AP Transco to implement an undeclared supply cut for four hours daily from Sunday in all cities and towns and for two hours for industries.
The rural areas were already facing more than a six-hour cut in power supply for the past few days. However, the agriculture sector has been spared with Transco deciding to continue the seven-hour supply to the estimated 28 lakh pumpsets in the State in two spells daily, to facilitate sowing operations. The four distribution companies i have been asked to restrict the outflow of electricity from the grid by resorting to load-shedding wherever possible.
How frequently does this happen?
EVERY. DAMN. DAY
at home, there’s no power from 11.30AM to about 2.30PM and at school it’s off from 11 to 1 and then sometime later in the day…
Wow! I am always amazed by other nations and what is available to them and what is not.
no rains = no hydroelectric power. the water level in dams in the state has fallen precipitously to probably near-drought levels. a ‘statistically average’ monsoon my ass. this is a failed monsoon, thanks to an el niño effect
Wow. I had no idea that the monsoon season was so essential to India. I need to learn more!
I did some reading and now understand the monsoon season a bit more. Wow!
wow is right.. there seems to be a trend of a failed monsoon every 4 years now. it’s pretty ridiculous
It’s very interesting the changes in weather, reasons for them and the effects on India.
Mother nature leaves us so vulnerable!
Would playing “Monsoon Wedding” over and over help?
I had no idea we had invaded India! Have we painted schools too?
