Finding a flower (A delicious, yet strangely textured flower at that) in your coconut is supposed to mean good luck.
in the words of many of my city-mates, Inshallah!
In other news, the old theme was bringin me down. this new design, (also new to wordpress) appealed to me. it’s so colourful and fun. sorry if you feel a little disoriented, i think it looks a lot better and i’ll be stickin with it for some time to come
Wow, how cool! Both the photo and finding a flower in your coconut. Really neat.
aif, I like your new design. I usually am quite disoriented when someone changes their format, but I felt comfy right away.
I like the new look! It’s like you lifted the veil and this was here all the time!
I’m still not sure what I’m looking at though in that coconut…
that’s a coconut flower. it’s what makes new coconuts.
I like the new lay out.
Coconuts have flowers? I fell like I should have know that but I didn’t.
I can’t say that I’ve ever seen a coconut flower. It makes sense that they have them, but that thing almost looks more like something that came from the sea.
that’s why they’re supposed to be lucky, Jennifer :) people rarely get to see them. either they get picked off before any flowering happens, or they are used to sprout new trees :)
Is it possible that a swallow carried a coconut flower to medieval England, and that’s how King Arthur wound up with those coconuts?
I hope we get residual or vicarious luck merely by looking at yours.
I think you have made a major discovery in monty-python studies, Brando. this should be party of your dissertation!
Jennifer, i would be more than happy to share any luck i may or may not get with all :)
Hey…I have found those kind of flowers in coconuts plenty of times…..either when i m prepping for chutney….or even when I m offering the coconut to God in the temple……
But as far it being a lucky charm…..no luck as of yet!!!!
Guess its just a superstition afterall……
there’s nothing wrong with a bit of superstition. i am glad to hear that you are lucky enough (or use enough coconuts) to find flowers all the time :-D
